Harbour and range codes
Denmark 6333 is the inlet town to the west, with a longer approach. Mount Barker and Porongurup share 6324, vineyard and range country. Kalgan and Little Grove share 6330 with the closer rural edge and the harbour side. Name a Little Grove build or a Porongurup shed for what it is.
Steep granite, soft winter
Granite rises straight behind the centre. Mount Clarence, Mount Melville and Mount Adelaide make older streets steep enough that a driver changes down, and a sharp crossover will catch a tilt-tray bed before the box is near the spot. On those slopes a crane from the street is the sensible tool, and it is also how a 40ft is placed. A 10ft or 20ft on a firm, gentler approach can still come off a tilt-tray. Bayonet Head, McKail, Yakamia and Lange are easier. Milpara and Mirambeena are flat and built for heavy vehicles. Weathered granite on the rises carries weight. Grey sand holds winter water, and the ground around Lake Seppings stays soft for months. Plantation tracks are shared with log trucks and soften after rain. Say which way the block falls.
Gums, grain and nets
Blue-gum crews need fuel and chemical storage that can follow a coupe. Narrikup, Kendenup and the Stirling Range country take grain and machinery parts. Vineyards at Mount Barker, the Porongurups and Denmark want a dry store. People fishing from Emu Point and Princess Royal Harbour run out of room for pots. If the gear must stay dry through a week of drizzle, ask for cargo-worthy or new. As-is costs less and is not sold as a dry box.

Why does damp air matter so much on this coast?
Fronts keep moisture against the steel for days. Ventilation, grass kept off the rail, and a grade that is actually dry decide whether August smells of mould.
Will a tilt-tray ground on a Mount Clarence crossover?
On the steep ones, yes. A crane from the street is the usual plan under Mount Clarence or Mount Melville, where the kerb falls away hard.
Is winter ground around Lake Seppings firm?
Often it is not. Grey sand and the creek lines hold water for months. A February pad and a July pad are different promises.
Do log trucks change a plantation delivery?
They share the tracks, and winter softens what summer corrugated. Name the coupe road before a date is treated as fixed.
