Dubbo, NSW
Three highways meet here and the clay still decides
The Newell, the Mitchell and the Golden meet at Dubbo, which is why a booking on the western schedule is a normal week rather than a one-off trip. The rail yards work through the night and the town is used to freight. Scheduling is the kind part. Wet ground, and the room a rigid has once it is through the gate, still decide the job.
Onto the western schedule
A Dubbo release joins the western schedule. No single address gets a truck held aside. Photos of the Macquarie unit go out before dispatch, and delivery is quoted to the address once the gate and the gravel are described.
Junction towns westward
Dubbo is 2830. Wellington is 2820. Narromine is 2821. Gilgandra is 2827. Mudgee is 2850. Parkes is 2870. Wongarbon, Geurie and Trangie sit on the same western pattern. A West Dubbo industrial gate and a Narromine clay flat are both reachable, and only the higher red earth forgives a wet day.
Clays and long drives
Town blocks and firm property tracks suit a tilt-tray. A crane is the call where the yard is tight or the ground will not let a truck in close. Higher red-brown earth drains and often holds a day after rain. Grey and black cracking clays on the Macquarie flats and toward Narromine are near bitumen when dry and grease when wet, with no gentle middle. Long crowned gravel is fine until a wet week puts a wheel in the table drain. Grids rarely show a rating: if it is unknown, stop on firm ground near the seal or lift. Gates, lines to a silo, ironbarks and kurrajongs at about four metres, and a real turn at the end all matter. West Dubbo has kerbside cars and short drives. Edge estates add narrow carriageways and young fill.
Grain, freight, the zoo
Seed and chemical storage through Wongarbon, Geurie, Narromine and Trangie. Plant at West Dubbo and Boothenba. Stores for highway-junction operators. Materials at Delroy, Keswick and Southlakes. Shearing and agent gear. A dry lock-up near the zoo.

Which Dubbo clay actually stops a loaded rigid?
Grey and black cracking clay on the Macquarie flats and toward Narromine. Dry, it is close to bitumen. Wet, it will not steer. Higher red earth usually drains.
How much room does a long farm drive need at the end?
Enough to square a tilt-tray, not a gap that looked bigger from the house. Greased crowned gravel drops a wheel into the table drain.
What belongs on the enquiry if a grid has no plate?
That the load figure is unknown. The drop can stay near the seal, or a crane can place the box. A float grid is not a trial.
Do ironbarks and kurrajongs affect the unload itself?
When a limb sits at about four metres, yes. A line to a pump or silo does the same. The truck can arrive and still be unable to raise the bed.

Room for more.Less mucking around.
