The motorway is the easy half of a Tweed drop

Tweed Heads, NSW

The motorway is the easy half of a Tweed drop

The Pacific Motorway puts a truck among the Tweed suburbs in well under an hour. That speed is the misleading part. Banora Point canals pinch at the street, Kingscliff sits on dune sand, and the cane country toward Condong and Tumbulgum is soft river flat. A Queensland council covers the neighbour a couple of streets north. This side of the line does not.

Motorway, then the suburb

Units for Tweed Heads are checked and photographed before the motorway run is booked. Delivery is quoted to the address once the suburb, the side access and any village gate are known.

River towns and codes

Tweed Heads itself is 2485. Banora Point is 2486. Kingscliff and Chinderah share 2487. Murwillumbah, up the river, is 2484, and Pottsville is 2489. Fingal and Condong belong in the same conversation even without a separate code here. Name the suburb. A canal front and a cane paddock are not the same approach.

Water, sand, ridges

Real side room is what lets a tilt-tray finish. Canal lots at Tweed Heads West, Banora Point and the Terranora Broadwater face the water and close at the street, so a crane comes over the fence if the cul-de-sac can take outriggers and the wires allow it. Fingal Head, Kingscliff and Casuarina stand on beach sand with the water table close under the turf: it sheds rain and will not hold an axle. Chinderah, Tumbulgum and Stotts Creek are low cane ground, often acid sulfate, so ask before anyone digs. Terranora and Bilambil are steep red basalt, and a tilt bed can catch the kerb. Villages need approval, a window, and sometimes a height bar.

Cane, boats, rebuilds

Fishing kit and skis that never fitted a garage. Trade lock-ups between Banora Point and Kingscliff. Cane gear on the flats. Weekend market kit. Belongings parked while a Chinderah or Fingal cottage is rebuilt. Village residents who shrank the house first.

Notes on ground and access that match this coast.

Does a Queensland neighbour's approval cover your side of the line?

No. The motorway ignores the border. A box on this side is judged in New South Wales. Do not copy a condition from a street north of the line.

Why will a canal block at Banora Point usually need a crane?

The water side is wide and the street side is not. The house fills the block. Outriggers and overhead wires decide whether the lift can set up.

Can Kingscliff sand take a loaded axle off the seal?

It looks firm and it drains. It will not carry. Fingal Head and Casuarina match it. Stay on made pavement and set the corners on pads.

What does a retirement village need sorted before the truck arrives?

Body corporate approval, a booked window, and a path that clears any height bar. Otherwise the truck reaches the gate and is turned around.

Room for more.Less mucking around.
