The wrong box in Boulder is a long way from a swap
Six hundred kilometres of Great Eastern Highway sit between a Boulder yard and the nearest holding. Cartage stays sensible when the box rides a truck already heading east, so the day can flex and the specification cannot. A wrong unit is a long correction.
Loaded deck going east
The eastbound unit leaves the Fremantle partner depot, through Southern Cross and Coolgardie. A look there is arranged. Photos are the practical inspection, because a there-and-back drive is not a casual errand. What is standing, and which deck has room, sets the date.
Towns along the highway
Boulder 6432 is the tighter cottage streets, distinct from the wide Hannan grid. Coolgardie 6429 is on the way in from the west. Kambalda 6442, Leonora 6438 and Norseman 6443 are mining towns hours apart, not one suburb drop. Name the town. A compound and a cottage lane are different trucks.
Wide streets, hot steel
The Hannan grid was set out wide, and a rigid inherits it. Somerville and Hannans give room to square up. Boulder lanes behind the cottages are narrower, and soft red gravel on the verge cuts up under a rear axle. Calcrete and hard red gravel carry a box with little under it. What fails is a pad graded last month and never compacted, fresh fill by a new shed, or the salt fringe toward Lake Lefroy after rain turns it slick for a day. Say if the pad is new. A tilt-tray does a 10ft or 20ft on a firm approach. A 40ft, or a lift into a fenced compound, needs a side loader or a crane. Through summer the useful hours are the morning. Steel left in the sun is too hot to handle late, and sealant stops behaving.
Cores, cribs and cottages
Crews toward Menzies, Leonora and Kambalda need core trays out of the dust, and consumables when the hardware counter is hours away. Anzac and Broadwood blocks keep workshop parts. Prospectors want detectors and jerry cans locked up. Short packages use a box as a crib room. A Boulder cottage being reroofed needs the household somewhere dry.
Notes on heat, red gravel, and being exact about the unit.
Why is the specification stricter than the weekday?
A swap means another eastbound deck, not a trip across town. Lock the length and the grade in the enquiry. Let the day meet a truck already rolling.
Will red gravel in a Boulder lane hold an axle?
The verges cut up. Stay on the firm line, or lift into the yard instead of driving the tray onto the edge.
Does a new pad at the shed need timber?
If it was graded recently and never compacted, yes. Old calcrete often needs almost nothing. Say which you have.
Is a summer afternoon a fair time to crane?
No. Use the cool morning. Steel and people both stop being useful once the day has climbed, and a rushed lift saves nothing.

Room for more.Less mucking around.
