Sealed highway in, cracking clay at the rows
Spray rigs around the Nogoa and Lake Maraboon, and fitters serving Blackwater and Gregory, both want a lock-up that is not the ute. Town streets are an easy stand. The rows are cracking clay, fine until a storm. The Gemfields tracks are a third job, narrow and rutted, with spoil beside the pegs.
West on the Capricorn
Emerald orders come west on the Capricorn, through Duaringa and Blackwater. It is a highway leg, so the date follows a truck already pointed this way. Photos of the Emerald unit go out before that run is booked. Gemfield claims and tight sheds take the crane. A short box on a straight industrial apron can come off a tilt-tray. Say which ground you have before the truck is sent.
Highway towns and claims
Blackwater is 4717, back along the highway. Capella is 4723, north among the mines. Springsure is 4722. Rubyvale is 4702, in the Gemfields, and Clermont is 4721. Sapphire and Anakie belong in the same sentence as Rubyvale and are not given a separate code here.
Channels and gem tracks
Town is wide enough for a rigid to stand. Irrigation blocks move machinery well until a channel, a siphon line or a low span to the pump shed sits where the bed must rise. Clay that carried a spray rig on Monday can fail by Friday. The Nogoa can push water across low blocks after the rain has left.
Rubyvale, Sapphire and Anakie are narrow, rutted and hemmed by spoil. A twenty-foot reaches most claims. A forty-foot often does not. Bulldust in the dry and slick clay in the wet both apply. Mine gates want an induction, a window and often an escort. Say which of the three the address is.
Irrigation and mine spares
Irrigation farms lock spray gear. Citrus and melon growers overflow the packing shed. Contractors servicing Blackwater and Gregory store tooling. Claims at Rubyvale want a camp lock-up. Grazing toward Springsure takes hay and fencing.
Notes on irrigation clay, claim tracks and mine gates.
What gets in the way on an irrigation block?
Channels, siphon pipe and low spans into the pump shed. The public road is rarely the stop. Say where the bed would rise.
How fast does the clay change after a storm?
A surface that carried a spray rig on Monday can fail by Friday. Low blocks near the Nogoa can take water after the cloud has gone.
Will a forty-foot fit a Rubyvale claim?
Often it will not. Tracks are narrow and hemmed by spoil. A ten-foot or twenty-foot where the truck can stand is the usual result.
What does a mine gate need before the truck rolls?
Induction, a window and often an escort. None of that is sorted at the boom. A town street and a lease are different bookings.
