Paddington pitches and river silt are different jobs
The kerb through Paddington drops before a tilt bed is clear. Bardon and Red Hill match it, house on stumps, flat ground only out the back. Figs sit at bed height. Rocklea and Oxley are the other job: silt that firms in a dry September and fails after storms.
Yard, wharf, then truck
Release is the yard at 51–55 Bromley Street, Cornubia. Photos of the chosen unit go out before it is loaded for a Brisbane address. Some units come off the Fisherman Islands wharf, a port face rather than a yard, and others from the Wacol and Richlands holding corridor. Ring first. Weekdays run from half past seven until five, Saturday morning until noon. Cargo-worthy and new are checked wind and watertight. As-is is not sold dry.
See Brisbane lengths and grades once the unit is standing at Cornubia.
City fringe codes
Caboolture, postcode 4510, is the northern fringe of this same run. Ipswich is 4305 and Logan is 4114, and both have their own pages. The Gold Coast is 4217. Redland Bay is 4165, on the bay side of the southern arc and usually a shorter hop than a ridge north of the river.
Ridges and silt
Springwood and Rochedale tuck into a morning. Daisy Hill, Shailer Park and Loganholme share that southern hop, with Victoria Point at the bay end. The Gateway and the inner bypass spend the clock, so Aspley and Ferny Grove need the start of the day. Inner streets go early. A rigid has nowhere legal to wait once the kerbs fill.
A straight approach takes a tilt-tray for a ten-foot or a twenty-foot. A forty-foot, a high-set house, or a lift over a fence is a crane. Chapel Hill and Everton Hills often stack pitch, stumps and canopy. Breakfast Creek, Kedron Brook and fresh fill on the outer north need a photo of the street, the approach and the ground before a truck is named.
Stumps, trades, acreage
Wooloowin, Cannon Hill and Nundah are narrow infill, so the box is a lock-up. Bulimba, Camp Hill and Ashgrove need tools through a knockdown. Acacia Ridge, Darra, Eagle Farm and Hemmant take parts when the warehouse is full. A Queenslander being built in underneath needs the household kept dry. Pullenvale, Cedar Creek and Mount Nebo are feed, tack and plant where a slab would come first.
More on grades, and on ground that shifts after summer storms.
Does a Paddington pitch rule out a tilt-tray?
Often. The bed grounds on that kerb, so the box is craned over the fence once reach and wires are known.
Will Rocklea silt hold after storms?
It firms in a dry September and gives up after a wet fortnight. Pads under the corners beat hoping the lawn stays hard.
Can an inner drop wait until lunch?
No. Those streets are run early, before a rigid with steel on the back has nowhere legal to stand.
Do overhanging figs change the truck?
They do beside a steep kerb and a house on stumps. One snag is workable. The set of them is a crane, decided in the quote.
