Grafton, NSW
Local buyers collect from the Grafton partner depot
The Pacific Highway crosses the Clarence at Grafton, and the partner depot is here rather than a day back up the road. A local order is not waiting on a capital-city truck. If a size is wrong for the spot, the return is a short run. Inspection is booked.
Held on the Clarence
This town is itself a Koala partner depot, and local orders are released here. You walk the units only after a time is set.
A Grafton order leaves the partner depot here. Photos of the unit go out before dispatch when you will not visit.
Valley towns downstream
Grafton, South Grafton and Coutts Crossing share 2460. Ulmarra is 2462. Maclean is 2463. Yamba is 2464. Harwood, Junction Hill, Clarenza and Iluka belong in the same valley note. A South Grafton street and a Yamba fishing block are both reachable, and they are not the same ground.
Jacarandas and silt
Clear air lets a tilt-tray handle a ten-foot or twenty-foot. A crane or side loader takes a forty-foot and the older streets either side of the Clarence. Central Grafton is wide, and thick with jacarandas at about four metres, so a truck can roll the street and still be unable to raise a bed. Valley silt looks like hardstand until a wet week sinks a corner. Sandy rises around South Grafton and Junction Hill drain quickly and carry poorly. Both want pads. Beyond town: crowned gravel, table drains, causeways after rain in the western ranges, unrated grids, and gates narrower at the swing.
Cane flats and nets
Cane gear toward Ulmarra and Harwood. Beef and fodder through Coutts Crossing and Copmanhurst. Timber at Koolkhan and South Grafton. Nets at Maclean, Yamba and Iluka. Blueberry fittings north of town. Builder stores at Junction Hill and Clarenza.
Notes on canopy, silt and a depot you book to see.
Can I turn up and walk the Grafton rows?
A visit is booked so someone walks the units with you. and the gate is.
Why do wide jacaranda streets still defeat a tilt-tray?
The bed needs clear air. Canopy at about four metres lets a truck pass and still blocks the unload. South Grafton adds short drives and low service lines.
Do silt flats and sand ridges want the same pads?
Yes, off bare turf, for different reasons. Silt looks solid and softens after rain. Sandy rises near Junction Hill drain fast and carry badly.
What stops a truck on a Clarence valley driveway?
A causeway up after rain in the western ranges, an unrated grid, or a gate tight at the swing. A wheel off the crown of the gravel ends in the table drain.
